Dogs. Siberian Huskies. Bulldogs. Labrador Retreivers. Shar-Pei's. Rottweilers. Growing up, my siblings and I begged to get a dog. It never happened. So here I am, 29-years old, and the urge to own a dog is still as great as it was when I was 10-years old.

The older I get, however, I notice my perspective changing ever so slightly. Now, I start thinking about both the pros and the cons of being a dog owner.

  1. I would have a loyal companion.
  2. I could take my dog hiking and camping.
  3. It would hopefully get my family momentarily off my back about getting married and having a family.
  4. Dogs are adorable.

  1. Vet bills.
  2. Paying for dog food.
  3. Dog hair. Everywhere. I am anal retentive and like a clean apartment. This is a big factor.
  4. Flexibility.

Until I allow myself to make that decision, I will just have to enjoy friends' dogs. Or perhaps the random dogs that my brother and I find while walking around camps in Minnesota.

Let's just say it how it is. The date is September 14, 2016. Labor Day Weekend has come and gone. The days of laying out at the lake are done with. Rooftop season seems to slowly be winding down.

As far as I am concerned, we can just forget about this half-attempt at summer and just go straight into a full-fledge fall. I am talking about going full-on basic. Oversized chunky sweaters. Pumpkin Spiced Lattes. Long walks through the woods, the sound of leaves crunching beneath your feet. Apple picking. This is what I want. This is who I want to be - an autumnal basic.

This past weekend I drove up to Minnesota to visit Erik for a few days. The weather was perfect. Cloudy and overcast one day (the photographer in me was jumping for joy) and then sunny and reasonably warm the next. As far as fashion goes, I am a sucker for fall fashion. Give me all of it. The layers. The denim. I want it all. I want it all. And I want it now.

I think we can all agree upon one thing:
there's nothing better than a worn-in soft tee!

I'm currently on the search to find the comfiest tee out there, just in time for summer. There are so many options that I don't know where to start - Lucky Brand, American Apparel, Mack Weldon... With this clearly important dilemma at hand, I need to begin testing them all out to be sure that I find the perfect one.

While I am aware that Minnesota may not be the most stylist state in the country, I've had a number of friends up here that continue trying to get me to try out Cotton On, a brand from Australia. It wasn't until recently that I realized there was a Cotton On store at the Mall of America - really?! I've been holding out this long for nothing?

After spending way too much time in the fitting room, trying on like 50 different outfits, it is safe to say that I have fallen in love with Cotton On. Similar to H&M or Uniqlo, the store has amazing style. It should go without saying that I made a few purchases. I can't get enough of this plain tee and cannot wait to rock in on a hot summer day. To answer the question you've all been dying to hear...yes, the tee is as soft as can be.
