No matter how hard I try, I always tend to worry about the future. I am constantly looking ahead, trying to figure out my next step. What am I having for lunch tomorrow? How am I going to make enough money to pay rent? Am I ever going to find someone that I love and loves me back? Welcome to Tommy's thoughts. Most days it would probably look like a complete and utter disaster. And for someone that is extremely anal retentive, that can be awfully stressful.
I've come to the realization that this will be an ever evolving process. No matter how old I am, or how many struggles or accomplishments I've gone through, there will always be good and bad days. We are only human.
Each day, find something to ground yourself in the moment. Whether it is a 5:45am class at SoulCycle, or a note of encouragement posted on your bathroom, of even a quite walk across an empty damn, allow yourself to recognize where you are at. Revel in it. Own it. Appreciate it. Love it. We are all on this roller coaster called life. What hand of cards we are dealt, well, we don't have control over that. But what we do have control over is our outlook and how we respond to things that we confront.
So today, live in the moment. Do something for yourself. Tell yourself that you are incredible. Be happy.
