"As I went down to the river to pray."
"Erik, what do you do in your free time?"
Hmm, let me think about that for about 2.54 seconds...I think about photography, I research equipment, I browse the Internet looking for inspiration, and I am constantly scouting locations to photo shoots. All in all, I'm a photography nerd, so much so that I have an ever evolving wish list going. Hey Sony and Nikon, if you're ever looking for a new blogger to work with...feel free to hook a brother up! I'd love to shoot with those cameras!
Among all of the photography related things that I do, scouting locations has to be my favorite. In the back of my mind, I am always thinking about how my surroundings would look behind the lens, about what stories can be told, and how I can tell stories with these pictures. Even for The American Swede, a style blog, I constantly think what backdrop could be used for this website.
Being a wanderer, a day-dreamer, and a constant thinker, downtime is so needed. Even in Winona, a small town, things can be busy and hectic. Allowing myself to get away into nature - a walk through the woods or some quiet time on a riverbank - is so crucial to making sure that I am focus and that my head is on straight. It's on these days - days by myself - that all I need is a light Nike zip-up, an oversized fitness tee, ripped up Levi's, and classic vans. Daaammmmnnnn Daniel!
