“All is as if the world did cease to exist. The city's monuments go unseen, its past unheard, and its culture slowly fading in the dismal sea.”
Have you ever seen those articles online, the ones with pictures of abandoned buildings and spaces? The ones where you look at the photographs and can't believe that something so desolate can be so beautiful. With a strange combination of eeriness and wonder, these images draw me in and I cannot stop looking at them. One thing I have always wanted to do is go to these locations and take pictures. I could do nothing but photograph their beauty for hours and hours.
In my hometown, the original high school building has long since been abandoned and was sadly recently torn down to create space for sports fields for the high school. However, before the demolition, Erik and I were lucky enough to spend hours in the quiet halls and erie basement taking pictures. The photographs that we captured are hands-down some of my favorites that I've ever taken.
In these pictures, I wanted an outfit that was simple yet made a statement. It had to compliment the surroundings and I think the results are fantastic. I love the historical, aged look to the style and atmosphere.
If you could do a photoshoot anywhere in the world, where would you go?
