Here's the difference between when I lived in New York City and living in Chicago: I can leave the city whenever I want to. Sure, I could have left Manhattan, but I would go weeks, months even without ever leaving the island. It was just something that happened, there was no reason for me to leave. Now that I live in Chicago (forget the fact that I work in the suburbs) I am able to get a break from the hustle and bustle of the city as I please. I have to say, I love the suburbs in the fall.
Monkstraps have been all the rage in mens shoes for a while but I have resisted spending the money. For one reason, I cannot justify spending upwards of $300 on a single pair of shoes. So when I came across this pair of Twyford Monkstraps at Aldo Shoes, I knew it was time to make the investment. They are the perfect shoe to help add that extra something to your look.
As I look at the weather for the upcoming week, I can only think of how interesting this winter will be. Chicago is supposed to be hit with the Polar Vortex 2.0 - how that will effect The American Swede? We may just have to go with more interior photo shoots...
